RELIANCE BRANDS LIMITED (RBL) has entered into a strategic partnership with the hottest global luxury brand Balenciaga in order to bring the best of global couture to the Indian market. With this long-term franchise agreement, RBL will be Balenciaga’s sole India partner in launching the brand in the country. This is RBL’s second partnership with the parent group Kering, which owns Balenciaga.
Few brands have embraced the opportunity for creative reinterpretation and reinvention as enthusiastically as Balenciaga. Their avant-garde and creations, bold use of the logo, and subsequent cult in the fashion industry have already established a strong footing worldwide. The original house of Balenciaga defined modern couture with its many innovations in form and technique, founded in 1917 by Spanish-born Cristóbal Balenciaga and established in Paris in 1937. Artistic director of Balenciaga is Demma. He is in the role since since 2015. He has continued to uphold the brand’s vision through boundary-pushing collections that have expanded to include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, and objets d’art.
